Out With The Old and In With The New

It has been quite a year for all of us and not to mention the whole world. Lots of excitement and lots of sorrow. We truly have to count our blessings. We all need to watch White Christmas and Holiday Inn. Home Again would like to thank all of the wonderful consignors, all friends old and new, and all of our talented artists that have graced the shoppe. As we skate into the new year may all of your dreams and wishes come true.

Holiday Bling

Look what Santa just dropped off for your gift giving. These estate pieces will add that special touch of razzle dazzle. There are other pieces as well for your viewing pleasure. I'll take the center diamond and Liz's martini!

Liz Revit Art

This is the original piece that was commissioned by Liz's client. Liz will be doing this in prints that will be for sale at Home Again. Liz also has some other "pop art" pieces she will be releasing.

Deco Diva

This cool piece of art work was done by our favorite artist Liz Revit. It is gracing the wall at Home Again for purchase. A lot of Liz's works has this 1920"s deco flavor. I truly believe this was Liz in a former life!

Last Ride

Would you believe I was still tooling around on my Moped last week? The end of November? I think that might have been my last ride until next Spring.

Birds of a Feather

While viewing a summer photo file, I came across these two characters. Mother bird was taking her shower and baby bird weathered a storm. Cracked me up! Enjoy.

Cottage Style

Cottage style or some prefer shabby chic. Everyone loves this type of decorating. Not trendy and always timeless. Small simple houses filled with natural light and a romantic aura. Furniture never matches and is chippy, painted, distressed and carefree. Rooms are cozy and relaxing. The lake or seaside. Our local artist, Betsy Havira, was kind enough to provide the necessary accent pieces or "dessert" in cottage decorating. Her seashore paintings are perfect. Very soothing and colorful. And they are on sale.

A Natural Addition

When the artist took on this project, she paid loving attention to detail. She selected a high end piece of furniture. In a successful cottage-style room there is a feeling. And nothing is perfect. And that's the beauty.

Holiday Window

The elves started to decorate the store windows. They wanted something to remind us of our childhood. The rocking horse was hand crafted. An amazing piece. Christmas will be in full swing. Don't forget black Friday on November 27. Home Again will be having a sale of 20 to 50% off on selected items. Hope to see you there. Store hours will be from 11 to 6 pm.

Prim Goodies

The last time Liz Revit graced Home Again with her multi talent was the Christmas in July show At Home Again. Liz is a renowned jewelry designer and painter. Just punch up Liz Revit art blog and you know what I'm talk'n about. She melted my heart with her primitive snowmen. Miss Liz how did you know? Keep your eye on her new release of art. Very funky and vintage. Can't wait to see it at Home Again.

Christmas Art

Our "Queen of Halloween" gal has done it again! Miss Christine Altmann take a bow! Her amazing Christmas art is just plain fun. Come in to see her collection. As always Home Again is very proud to showcase our local artisans. These are wonderful gifts.

A Bloom'n Show

The antique show held each year at the Bloomsburg fair grounds was smashing! This ain't no flea market! Anyone who appreciates the real deal was at this show. Every year my two friends Diana and Clyde take their place and stand back for all of their followers. If you love fine, super high quality, amazing one of a kind pieces of jewelry, both Diana and Clyde will accommodate your every taste.

Diana's Booth

Giving the camera a very striking regal pose, Diana is seen in her elegant surroundings.

Diamond HOTTIE

This drop dead, must have, Santa baby, sister ring me up now, is in Diana's gorgeous collection. I can just hear my mother. "Now you need a mink and a Cadillac to go with it!

Clyde's Booth

I finally got near his booth to quick steal a shot. People were buzzing around the jewelry counters all day. I know I located the ring I want. Sorry about the "drool" on your beautiful cases, Clyde!

Field Trip

This past Sunday my two friends and I went on our yearly field trip to the open house at Country Folk. It's the kick off to the Christmas season. They actually close the place for two weeks in order to transform "the barn" into the most amazing display of holiday decorating. They also had a drive to feed the less fortunate. If you brought canned goods you got 20% off of your purchase. Although it was a bit difficult to get into the holiday spirit, the 70 degree weather was wonderful! And who could resist a picture of the nuclear power plant as we sped through Berwick? I'm glad I don't live there!

Taking Five

After an exhausting three hours of looking, climbing, wandering, dreaming, getting decorating ideas, battling the crowds and finally making our purchases, my two dear friends could not wait to sit down. They picked a pretty spot.

Think Posh

Fabrics are the home's equivalent of clothing. In the same way you would wear a sensuous satin dress for a "special evening", fabrics set the scene for romance in a room. Purple as seen on the two Victorian pieces instantly conveys a royal residence. If Scarlett O'Hara needed something to wear during the luxury-deprived Civil War years, she probably would have worn this fabric!

Divine Style

Looking for an elegant sofa? Look no more. This is a fashion statement. The beautiful Chippendale is wearing pure silk in a yummy mint green flavor. Must have a strong personality to own this beauty! Not for the squeamish!

Southern Comfort

Home Again is extremely proud to announce and showcase the arrival of these two stunning works of art. The corner cabinets are made of wild black cherry by the renowned furniture maker Henkel-Harris. The company is still in existence and has been operating in Virginia since 1946. These are without a doubt heirloom quality. This could be the finest furniture made in America.

Fresh Looks

If you are looking for a vintage piece to display towels in a bathroom, office supplies in a computer room, craft supplies for the artist, or plants for the sunroom, look no further. This curvy iron stand will be an added addition to any decor.

Queen of Halloween

Christine Altman was also featured at Home Again. Her love of Halloween just shines in her artwork. Here she is very much at home with her new found friend and her fashion statement hat. If you missed her art at Home Again, be sure to visit The Blue Hydrangea and Dundee Gardens. You will positively want to incorporate her works into your Halloween decor. You would even want to display it all year round. Thanks girls!

Some Creations

Artisan Cathy Pajor of Beads of Faith

Cathy was one of the in-house artisans that was featured at Home Again for the Fall festival. Here Cathy shows how her works are made. I just loved her rosary necklace. I ordered one custom made in the crystal of my choice. It was the peridot in honor of my Mother's birthday. I will cherish it always. Cathy also makes beautiful jewelry of her own creations.

Horse and Wagon Ride

Good-Bye Fall Festival

This was the closing of the Luzerne Fall Fest 2009. Home Again greeted many old customers and friends along with making new. The turnout was great! It was two days of nonstop activity. My friend Phil was one of the many food vendors. He brought me to my knees with his chocolate peanut butter pizza! Just sinful.

Fu Fu Feline

A bit of whimsy can go a long way when made into a doll or kitty bed! This is the creation of Maurell Gallery. Miss Maurells' expertise is designing vintage purses. Each piece is decorated with her vintage embellishments making it one of a kind. So retro chic. You can see one of her creations on an older post. We can see the pampered feline loving this sanctuary.

Country Meets Modern

We love teaming up a country quilt with a modern bed. The vibrant colors of Montana really pop the black metal scroll work and dark wooden posts. This would make an eye catching focal point for a guest bedroom. The Montana ensemble is seen in Country Sampler Magazine. Queen and King sizes are available. Come in to see what's new for the fall.

Inspired Reinventions

Recycled pieces from the past are an essential part of shabby chic decor. The two end tables can grace the side of a sofa or bed. The outdated furniture now has a new identity. They are charming and will give any room character.
