Weekend Gardening

There is no excuse not to have some type of garden.  Everyone needs one!  It doesn't have to be expensive.  Garden shops and home centers are now doing half price on all container flowers.  Your approach to gardening may be haute or a roughly made whiskey barrel planter.  Limited space growing  conditions?  The Container.  Even for the veggies.  Every year I drag out this
vintage umbrella and table my Mother used in the 1960's in her garden.

Love putting old industrial pieces in with the flowers.

He's Baaaaaack

Hot dog Charlie is back.  His favorite cuisine seems to be pizza.  Trusting no one, he makes his way to the top of a stadium light to enjoy his catch.

Oh Baby

Today was the baby shower for Dana,  the lovely mother -to-be  of my nephew Joseph.  This day was just beautiful.  The Prince will enter the kingdom August 1.  The name is so hush hush.  The Pentagon would be easier to infiltrate than these two.  Not even giving us a hint.  Nothing!

The proud papa to be is just beaming.

This is a playpen?  I believe my son had one with wooden slats!

A beautiful oak Amish cradle.  This will be an heirloom piece.

Dana is doing the nursery in a nautical theme.  I filled the cradle with nautical pillows from Victorian Heart and a matching braided carpet to set the cradle on instead of the hardwood floors.  It is the Seapoint collection which incudes bedding, drapes and fabric.  The custom made cradle mattress, bumpers, and sheets came from www.ababy.com.  This company is great.  Especially if you need these things  for an antique cradle.
What is this?

Don't cry Dana.

Just love these little guys.  Can't have enough.

The mattress for the crib.
Ooops!  Almost.

Big hugs for Dana's helper.

Whoever guessed the size of Dana by cutting a ribbon and was the closest, won the prize.  Very beautiful wreaths for the Fourth of July holiday were given.
