Plantation Reproductions

Hickory Chair Co. Hickory N.C., began to reproduce 18th Century American furniture over 60 years ago.  For inspiration, it turned to the plantations along the James.  Our silk beauty is from the Biggs Manufacturing Co., Virginia.  Well known for the production of Hickory and Henkel Harris.

Lengendary Pennsylvania House

The six beautiful cherry dining chairs are of earlier production.  Today PH was bought by Universal Furniture a Chinese owned producer of lower end furniture.  They have been plagued by quality problems.

VE RI TAS

Nichols and Stone is the maker of this Harvard chair.  Another fine maker of these chairs was Hitchcock.  The shield logo which reads ve ri tas is the Harvard motto.  It means truth.  It's amazing how this chair found its way to sit under our illustrious Luzerne County courthouse.  Anyone from the Wilkes-Barre area will know what we mean.

The Windsor Chair

This beautiful piece is from Pennsylvania House circa 1960.
After putting the finishing touches on the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson would have stood next to a writing armchair like this.
