Peace on Earth

As the holiday approaches, Home Again was filled with traditional holiday spirit. It is cold outside but there is plenty of warmth inside. Lots of candles to cast a warm glow. Customers reflecting on their own childhood memories of Christmas past. Downtown shopping in the snow, shoulder to shoulder, beautiful lighted display windows and Christmas music. It was a wonderful year. We stood back and knew it was a job well done. We would like to thank our consignors, friends and family for all of their support. So on to 2012!

Field Trip

Today we decided to see Lewisburg in all the holiday glory. This is the mecca for the antiques and collectibles market. The town is so beautiful at Christmas. Just walk the sidewalks and peek in all the store windows. Just entering the town you will get a warm colonial feel. This is what holiday shopping should be.

Just love how the business district is colonial style.

Lewisburg Hotel A Landmark

Wilson and Ross

When in Lewisburg this consignment shoppe is a must. Talk about the element of surprise! Owner Barbara Ross has put her stamp on chic, funky, vintage and retro. I can see why it is the talk of the college crowd of Bucknell.

I just love this sidewalk display in front of the shoppe. It says it all.

Upon entering the shoppe, this is what greeted us. Some lucky child will own this beauty.

This is just a tiny section of new and vintage jewelry.

Amazing Display Pieces

This was my find for the day. 1960's vintage sunglasses made in Italy. Hey Liz, these are somewhat like yours! I think we should vacation on Capri! We would look so retro!

Winter Night

This kind of, sort of, maybe reminds me of a Billy Jacobs print. Well the tree and the moon anyway! See the Billy Jacobs prints at Home Again. We featured them on the blog.

Christmas Heritage

Holiday Table

Today we started working on our holiday table. The antiqued shabby chairs are almost completed. A burlap ribbon on each and a touch of holly. We adorned the table with a painter's drop cloth and a festive topper! We used a vintage jeweled handbag with a wooden bottom as a centerpiece. The dishes are Pfaltzgraff Christmas Heritage. This is the original pattern. Today they have something different .

New Arrival

The two wing back chairs came to us today and just in time for the holiday season. I would build a fire place in my home just to have these gorgeous chairs flanking each side! The colors are rich jewel tones and the fabric is sumptuous. Cherry wood, lots of gold, and red poinsettias.

Traditional Silver

Our stunning tea service is the Winthrop Pattern from Reed and Barton. This is a wonderful romantic pattern . Picture a sideboard with this service adorned with an antique silver tray with candles, pink roses, juniper twigs and winter greens. Fragrant paper-white narcissus, crystal beads, mercury-glass candleholders for that added touch of sparkle.

The Perfect Gift

We love Billy Jacobs artwork. A self taught artist from Navarre, Ohio. He works in a variety of mediums from acrylic and watercolor to digital. He does every season making it hard to decide. Such added warmth to any home decor.

Recaptured Charm

The Home Again furniture elves have been busy transforming these very dark Depression Era chairs into a light cottage shabby chic cutie. Burlap is taking center stage in decorating. Purses, pillows, and seat covers as shown here.

New Arrival

How exciting! Shabby foo foo. Picture our lovely country French settee in a Christmas setting with two "orange trees" gracing each side instead of the usual spruce. The fabric is irresistible. A dreamy peach color for a sophisticated romantic look.

Field Trip

The kick off of the holiday season always starts with the Bloomsburg Antique Show and Sale. This show is a must for the serious collector. Furniture, quilts, primitives, jewelry, glass, china, pottery, advertising, toys, memorabilia, folk art, vintage and whimsical items. So many things that bring back my childhood, especially the Christmas items. Can't wait until the Spring show!

Service and Sacrifice

Do not forget Veterans Day. Especially the fallen. Give thanks to the heroic that made it home.

Back In The Day

There were a lot of homes in the area, especially our grandparents, that had very narrow stairways and tight corners to the second floor. This made it impossible to maneuver a large bedroom set up to those areas. And that is when it was hoisted to the second or even third floor through the window. Now you know why movers get big bucks.

New Arrivals

Today three pieces came to us and they are yummy.! The corner cabinet and desk are the Habersham Plantation Furniture Company. These two pieces are a very warm and welcoming honey pine. Just in time for the holidays.

The beautiful Eastlake walnut Victorian settee is circa 1890-1900. We love this style for the more geometric and modest curves. It breaks away from the excessive high relief carvings of the Victorian era. This is a go anywhere piece in the home. Just charming!
