Fall Harvest Fest 2011

This is our favorite time of the year. We hate to see Summer end, but look forward to the warmth and colors of the Fall. This year our festival was a rousing success! The shoppe was decked out in Autumn splendor which added to the mood. Our old friends and customers were greeted warmly. There were a lot of new faces as well. Thank you one and all!

Fall Fest would not be complete without the famous wagon ride. It is a major hit for young and old.

Good-Bye Fall Festival 2011

And This Is Today

Anyone who lived through The Great Flood of 1972 in the Wyoming Valley knows the feeling. The dike system back then was extremely antiquated to hold back the wrath of Hurricane Agnes. No one had ever anticipated this disaster. At that time Richard M. Nixon was President of The United States and was quoted as saying it was "the greatest natural disaster in the history of The United States". I lived it along with my parents. So far we have had a few of these close calls, especially in 1996. This time it is very close. Now Wilkes-Barre has a zillion dollar dike system in place. I believe this will be a test.

Summer is coming to an end. There is a chill in the air and lots of rain. You all know what that means! The Luzerne Fall Festival 2011. Last year was a huge success. Let's hope for a repeat and plenty of sun. Come join us for two fun filled days.

New Arrival

This darling bedroom set was made by Thomasville just for a princess! The are two twin beds and mirror for the dresser on the right. Such warmth and a kind of friendliness. I'm picturing lots of varied shapes on the white walls of childhood collections. Also this would be lovely in a cottage by the lake for the weary quests.
