A Tribute

At last.  Friday night in my casa.  I just retreated to my subterranean hideaway and planted my legs firmly on the coffee table to read a magazine as I have done countless times.  I'm sure my Mother is watching and shaking her head.  You would rather die than to put your feet on her coffee table!  Then it hit me!  I'm lounging on a piece of history!  This coffee  table was manufactured by a local mid century modern furniture designer, Adrian Pearsall.  Mr. Pearsall and his brother founded Craft Associates in 1952 in our home town of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.  He was inspired by Kagen and Nakashima.    His pieces are very dramatic and right up there with top mid century modern
furniture designers.  There is a wonderful blog dedicated to to his memory.  mid2mod.blogspot.com  I swear, every house in the area had a piece or a whole room of this amazing furniture.  My Mother had these pieces in her livingroom growing up in the 60's.  Thanks Mom.  And Mr. Pearsall.
